Its that time again when I give you all a lecture first as a reminder to my self and second to you all.
My dear brothers and sister in the awake of what we see today and what we see happing to your brothers and sisters around the world. I would like you to take a minute or two to ponder over what we have and what Allah (swt) has blessed us with.
We may think that may be sad that we have dead end jobs and live on low incomes, but think of those who have nothing, and what they had has been taken away from them. Everything we have is a blessing from Allah (swt) it is a privilege not a right and we need to praise Him (swt) for giving it to us.
We complain when the food on the table is cold or when something that we do not like has been made for dinner. My dear brothers and sisters I have seen people rummage through rubbish on a daily basis to get food. They did not pay any attention to what they had for dinner but sat in modesty and ate it.
Brothers and sisters know that a time will come when what we do and what we think of others will come to light before the Master of the Worlds (swt). As we love our family we should love our brothers and sister who are less fortunate than us. The reward is with Allah (swt) reap it by helping them.
I can out from Eid prayers one day and saw a little boy who was poor and only asked for some food, he was pushed away by all on this day of giving and showing your love for the sake of Allah (swt). He looked ever so sad. I then took him to the shop and purchased some food for him. You see my dear brothers and sisters the money spent was nothing to me but was everything to this young brother.
Know that a time will come when the family we live among now will disown us. And we will be pushed away by the very mother who breast feed us and the very father who loved us and carried us about as babies. This day will be the day of reckoning.
This will be the day when we will all say that “I do not know my fate let alone me helping you and giving you my good deeds, you should give me your deeds”
My dear brothers and sisters we can help our selves by helping others, and making dua for the Ummah that we love. Would it not be wonderful to drink and spend time with the Blessed Prophet (saw) in Paradise? Would it not be the best thing to see the face of Allah (swt)? This and much more can all be achieved on this very sad earth.
My dear brothers and sister take heed upon the message in the Qur’an, treat others as you would like to be treated. Show love and respect to those who are less fortunate than you. Think not of those who are poor any less than you. As it may be that they are the ones that you look up to while you are in the fire seeking water because of what you used to do to them.
My dear brothers treat your sisters in the Ummah as jewels. Show them the respect that they deserve. Do not under any circumstances miss treat them for they are your mothers, sisters, daughters and wives. They are a pillar of your deen. And know that you will surly be questioned about them.
My dear brothers to show a sister in Islam the respect and the love she deservers is better than and has more reward than what you can imagine.
My dear sisters know that a man may be rude and unjust to you but this is his nature at times. Know that at every turn of unjustness to you there is reward for you, do be patient and reap its reward.
My dear sisters know that it is a duty upon you to help and aid your father, brother, son and husband through any hardships they may encounter.
In the end I say:
Hold tight to the rope of Allah (swt), do not sell your Deen and do not give up hope in the promise of Allah (swt) because surly a time will come when we will all receive our wages in full.
Glory be to Him (swt) who holds my soul and the soul of the believers.
Wa salaam
Your bro
Abdal Majid Ibn Muhammad Shafi
